about SCANNING SERVICE
Artwork capture is done with a Hasselblad X2D II medium-format camera using a high-resolution multi-shot process to produce files with higher color accuracy, finer detail, cleaner texture reproduction, and stronger tonal separation than standard scanning methods.
My process is built around controlled lighting, custom color profiling, and accurate focusing — allowing the file to hold up for enlargement and reprints. That means a master file with higher fidelity to your original artwork.
Max original width: 72"
$45 per title.

What makes a giclée a giclée? Three things have to be true: high-resolution output (typically 300 DPI or higher), pigment inks, and an archival paper or canvas. What makes an ink archival? Archival inks are pigment-based, not dye-based. Pigments are ground solid color particles suspended in a carrier — they sit on or near the surface of the paper and resist fading from UV and exposure. A well-printed pigment ink on the right paper and kept out of direct sun, can last 100+ years without visible fading. What makes a paper archival? Archival paper is acid-free and lignin-free. Acid in untreated paper causes it to yellow and become brittle over time — think of an old newspaper. Lignin is the compound in wood pulp that breaks down under light and oxygen, also yellowing the paper. Archival papers use either pure cotton rag or purified alpha-cellulose, are pH-neutral and/or buffered. This is what gives a giclée its lifespan.
